We often get emails from readers like you asking us if we have more ideas that can go together to make a preschool unit. To begin with try these fall printables for preschool kids or these fall worksheets for preschoolers.
These printables are great for working on a variety of concepts preschoolers are learning like:. Stitch the orange triangle beak in between the middle part of the eyes using orange thread. Place the half circle piece on the bottom of the owl body base. Make sure the edges line up together on the bottom. Hand stitch around the top of the curved part to secure to the body.
Add the wings to each side, lining up the outer straighter edges and keeping the half circle side facing towards the center of the owl. Hand stitch them to the base with a coordinating color of thread. The edges will be stitched in next step. Pin the triangle face felt piece to the body using straight pins.
Hand-sew them together using small straight stitches with a sewing thread and needle. The largest piece will fold to become the back of the owl.
Use two strands of embroidery thread to sew French knots. One goes in the corner of the triangle piece as a nose, the others on the dots where the eyes should be. Then use sewing thread to sew a blanket stitch around the body. Make sure to leave a 2-inch opening for stuffing. Learn all the basic stitches you'll need to make the owl! Use the 2-inch gap to stuff the owl with fiber fill, or if you have any leftover felt, use that. Once the owl is stuffed to your satisfaction, continue the blanket stitch to sew the gap closed.
Try making a family of owls in several sizes.
